  • My hair for a good half year or so was Adore’s Purple Rage. It was my go-to hair color if only for the fact it is the only color available near me. It is around 7-10 dollars where I live. Adore’s Purple Rage is pink based and fades to like a magenta for me occasionally with white tips naturally, and it fades faster than Special Effects colors for me I guess. It’s a liquid dye. This is what my hair looks like with it. 
  • My current color is Special Effects Deep Purple. It’s a gel dye, fyi. And more expensive than Adore. This is a what it looks like freshly dyed.
  • And this is what it looks faded a month or more.

  • Before either of those colors — I have had purple hair for more than a year now — I had various colors in my hair:  and those were all random shit that I don’t recall nor have I ever used again. 
  • My parents help me bleach my hair, I usually dye it myself. 
  • I had previously done absolutely nothing to my hair but the bare minimum of shampooing it. It was perfect virgin hair and when I went into my hair salon requesting it to be bleached and ‘chopped the fuck off’ multiple salons refused to do it or wanted to charge me $300+.
  • When I first got it dyed it at a salon it cost me about $180 and the colors lasted about a month before I had to home dye it and it grew out INCREDIBLY AWKWARD. This is what it looked the first time I dyed it EVER: 
  • I used to use deep conditioner every week, sometimes multiple times, and from multiple brands. I love Say Yes to Carrots After Shower Leave-In-Conditioner the most, but I use multiple brands of deep conditioner and I try not to use heat on it too much. I seldom curl my hair or blow dry it. Now I’ve been using deep conditioner once every six days, and a hair mask once every ten days. I don’t mix in hair dye into my shampoo or conditioner or anything. If I have to touch up color I do it randomly. 
  • I use dry shampoo in between shampoos so my hair doesn’t smell weird. No recommendations on it to give you because I honestly don’t give a shit about what brands I use. 
  • This is early January 2012, after probably a little over a year of growing it out.
  • This is my hair freshly bleached and dyed Deep Purple. 

I use Clairol Developer and Powder Bleach. I do not like Manic Panic. My dad dyes my hair.
