Trigger warning for rape, violence against women and children in general, suicide by harakiri, VIOLENCE in general, etc etc etc. I don’t think you’d choose this movie if you were worried about trigger warnings anyway though. That being said and put aside, I probably should have paid more attention to the movie but I was multitasking and since I can’t understand Japanese very well I miss a lot, it almost feels like cheating to say I watched this entirely. BUT! This film had one of the best — several of the best — action scenes ever, and the obvious (and kickass) homage to Kurosawa was lovely. Also, I really enjoyed when the asshole Lord died (SPOILER ALERT I GUESS LOL WOOPS. But I mean the movie is all an assassination attempt so come on), I have seldom disliked a character more.
